Anthemis Filicaulis, Slender-stemmed Chamomile

Its existence in the Sitia Geopark has been documented since 1846, and it is one-of-a-kind in all of Europe.

An extremely rare and endangered stenoendemic plant exclusive to Eastern Crete, Anthemis filicaulis is a perennial hairy herbaceous species (hemicryptophyte). The shoots are short, measuring 2-14 cm, and are very thin and flexible. Its flowers create heads, featuring a disc of yellow blooms at the centre topped by 5-7 white petals, which may be small and occasionally absent.
