Ophrys Sitiaca

Ofrys of Sitia

Ophrys sitiaca is a species that may potentially result from hybridisation. These plants are characterised by their typical features, early flowering, and represent one of the rarest Ophrys species in the eastern Mediterranean. They are exclusively found in the eastern Aegean basin, Anatolia, and Crete, earning their name from Sitia, where they were initially described in 1988.
