The Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos is organising a hike on Sunday, January 11, 2026 for its members and for those interested in joining.
"This time we’ll start from Tzermiado, from where we’ll ascend freely to the Church of Timios Stavros, offering a panoramic view of the entire plateau and its peaks. We will then cross the Nisimos Plateau, named after a student of Apostle Paul, and visit the chapel of Agia Ariadni, the only one with this name in Greece. From there, we’ll head to Karfi Hill on its northern side, where traces of settlement from the Late Minoan period have been found. We will continue on to the village of Lagou, before returning to our starting point," the announcement states.
