Dromoi Zois is organising a rich hiking programme on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Here’s what they say in their invitation:

“We’ve gathered and packed into one hike:
a downhill, scenic, earthy trail, breathtaking views, two beautiful villages, arched Roman tombs, Byzantine churches, catacombs, waterfalls, Monasteries, lush greenery, a coffee stop for little Aroulis!!
And most importantly – two route options, 5.5 km and 11.5 km, so nobody has to skip this one!

The hike (both shorter and longer versions) is considered easy and suitable for everyone – young or old, first-timers or seasoned hikers.

Kardiotissa, Paliani Monastery, Agios Thomas, Dafnes – some of the hidden gems near Heraklion.

The only catch? Secure your spot in time…

Duration: 02:30 hrs – Difficulty level 1 for the short route, and 03:30–04:00 hrs for the long one.”

These excursions take place in non-urban environments, so appropriate clothes and shoes are essential, based on terrain and weather.
