Georgioupoli - Kournas Lake on Foot!

Starting from Georgioupolis’ s centre and heading towards the square, take the asphalt road. Initially, it runs parallel to the highway, and then you'll follow the exit leading over the overpass. The rural road will guide you southward through olive groves to Lake Kournas.

Upon reaching the lake, take exit 1, which will lead you directly to Lake Kournas. It is the only freshwater lake on the island of Crete.
