Zoodochos Pigi, Katalagari
ABOUT
Right next to the Kastelos fortress (later Castello del Cornaro) on the hill of Katalagari, stands the small church of Zoodochos Pigi, a 13th-century chapel with faded frescoes that, sadly, have not stood the test of time.
The church is modest in size but rich in history, and local residents are actively working toward its restoration.
Just a few metres to the west, you’ll find numerous wine presses carved directly into the rock, as well as two stone-carved screw press bases, remnants of the area's long agricultural tradition.
