Xirosterni: One of the Smallest and Most Picturesque Villages of Apokoronas

Xirosterni is a traditional small village with many beautifully restored stone houses, as well as a number of old ruins that preserve its authentic character.

It is considered one of the most picturesque villages of Apokoronas, small and peaceful, with welcoming and hospitable residents.

Every year, on August 6th, the villagers organize a traditional festival in honour of Sotiras Christos (The Transfiguration of Christ), to whom the village's main church is dedicated.

Visitors can enjoy an evening filled with Cretan music, traditional dancing and homemade food, generously offered to everyone attending the celebration.

At the entrance of the village, there is a mini market and a snack bar, while accommodation options are limited to rooms for rent and luxury villas, all traditionally built and harmoniously integrated into the natural landscape.

Xirosterni offers visitors an authentic taste of Cretan village life, surrounded by tranquility and timeless beauty.
