Agios Georgios Church in Kournas
ABOUT
The Holy Church of St George stands proudly in the village square in Kournas.
It was constructed in the late 12th century, around 1190, and underwent two renovations, the last of which took place in 1887.
Architecturally, it is a three-aisled church. Another aisle, dedicated to Christ, was added in 1230-1240.
The church has been the focal point of village life since the 12th century, hosting all the significant moments of its history.
