The Mountaineering Club of Heraklion continues its activities with two excursions on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The trips are as follows:

A) Psiloritis Crossing: Nida PlateauTimios StavrosFourfouras
The classic autumn crossing of Psiloritis, offering both seasoned and new hikers the chance to enjoy its grandeur just before it’s covered in snow!
We start early in the morning from the Nida Plateau (1450m) and follow the classic trail to reach the summit of Psiloritis, Timios Stavros (2456m).
From there, we descend southwest to the EOS Rethymno mountain shelter, Toumbotos Prinos (1400m). After a rest, we continue through a wooded path until we reach the village of Fourfouras (500m).

B) Kalo ChorioPotamies
A route undertaken by our Club for the first time.
We begin from the Kastelli Pediadas road, in the Agnos area. Following dirt roads, we pass through dense kermes oak forest and olive groves, and ascend the hill with the chapel of Agia Kyriaki.
Then we descend to Potamies, where the bus will pick us up for the return to Heraklion.
This is an easy hike, suitable for beginners and children accompanied by their parents.
