The Heraklion Ephorate of Antiquities has announced that the archaeological site of Malia will be closed to visitors from October 15, 2025, until December 31, 2025.

The closure is necessary to ensure visitor safety and to allow for the smooth completion of works under the Recovery and Resilience Facility project titled “SUB.3 – Flood Protection Works at the Minoan Palace of Malia, Crete” (project code OPS TA 5162018).
