With a rich programme of cultural activities, the Municipality of Rethymno celebrates 100 years of its Municipal Garden — a true urban oasis, a landmark filled with rare plant species, a social hub, and a living piece of the city’s history.

Over the past century, the garden has played a key role in the life, culture and identity of Rethymno, and now this multifaceted significance will be honoured through exhibitions, music events, a historical forum, and a community tree-planting initiative.

The celebration is coordinated by the Department of Green Spaces of the Municipality of Rethymno, with the support of the Municipal Councillor for Green Areas, Volunteering & Pet Management, Mr Giorgis Papadosifos.
