Nautical Week returns this year to the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos, running from Sunday, June 29 to Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Under the central theme “Greece at Sea”, a rich series of events, sports, cultural and environmental activities will unfold, all centered around the sea. The Municipality of Agios Nikolaos, through its Municipal Port Fund and DAEAN (Municipal Enterprise), and in collaboration with the Region of Crete, joins once again this national celebration, organized by the Hellenic Navy together with the Hellenic Coast Guard, honoring everyone whose life is tied to the sea: sailors, fishermen, sea sports athletes, islanders, and shipping professionals.

Nautical Week 2025 is dedicated to all those who safeguard Greece’s freedom, safety, tradition, and future.
The event addresses all citizens, offering an official invitation to pay tribute to our historic naval heritage, while highlighting the lasting importance of seafaring for the future of Greece.

The opening ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 29 at the Lake of Agios Nikolaos with a concert by the Band of the Hellenic Coast Guard, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, again at the lake, featuring a musical evening with the ensembles of Zacharias Epitropakis (Cretan) and Michalis Spyridakis (Island music) accompanied by the dance groups of Giannikos-Tamiolakis School (Cretan) and the Lyceum Club of Greek Women (Island dances).
