The mountain village of Temenia is waiting to be discovered!
Temenia comprises three neighbourhoods: the central one, known as Tzanoudiana with the largest population, Mesa Chorio featuring a spring, and Lazopouliana.
The ruins of the Minoan city of Yrtakina (or Irtakina) are located just 2 kilometres outside the village.
Visiting the Byzantine Church of Christ the Saviour is worthwhile; it was constructed in the 14th century and showcases remarkable architecture and frescoes. Additionally, Temenia boasts thermal springs and a recently renovated hydrotherapy centre.
