Daratsos, Chania: A Nobleman Gave It His Name

The organised beaches of Chrysi Akti, Agioi Apostoloi and Kato Daratsos are definitely a good reason to visit Daratsos or Ntaratsos, as it’s also known.
The area is split into Ano Daratsos and Kato Daratsos and belongs to the municipal unit of Nea Kydonia in the Municipality of Chania.
It’s very close to the city of Chania and is one of the most rapidly developing areas around.
Its name comes from the surname of its original settler, the Darazzo family, a noble family from Chania.
