Macherida Beach: Discover the Hidden Gem
ABOUT
A small but precious beach which acquired its name from the purple wildflowers found on the island, commonly referred to as sword-lilies. Macherida is situated 15 kilometres north of Chania, adjacent to the village of Chorafakia near Akrotiri. The beach features sandy shores where tranquil waters are a common sight. While it does not offer sunbeds and parasols, the surrounding area is undergoing development. The beach offers a serene atmosphere and boasts clear turquoise waters, inviting visitors to enjoy a peaceful experience.
It is worth mentioning that next to Macherida, there is an even smaller and more secluded bay that is popular among nudists.
