"Metavasi" (Transition) is the title of the new exhibition hosted by the Heraklion Museum of Visual Arts from November 1 to 28, 2025. This is a solo show by Nektarios Marinos, exploring the themes of change and the uninterrupted flow of all things.

The word "Metavasi" holds multiple meanings. It can signify a passage from one state to another — from life to death, from death back to life, from existence to non-existence, to absolute zero, to absolute void. It might represent the transition from one historical period to another, from a dark era to a bright one, and vice versa. It's the cycle of life in everything. Everything coexists, everything is present.
Above all, it reflects the idea that nothing is static, even if it appears to be. Everything, everywhere, always — around us and within us — moves in endless circles, in a constant flow.

Nektarios Marinos was born in Athens and raised in Aigio. He is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts and has been living and working as an art educator in Heraklion, Crete, for the past 20 years. His portfolio includes 10 solo exhibitions and numerous participations in group shows in Greece and abroad. He is also involved in music.
