About the Route
We begin from Kampos Doxarou and head gently uphill towards the traditional village of Doxaros, passing narrow alleys. Just outside the village, we pass a stone mitato, traditional threshing floors, and mud-brick terraces that support centuries-old olive trees.
A stone-paved path leads to a dirt road offering panoramic views of the valley and the Psiloritis mountain range. From here, we’ll see the impressive folds of Vosakos, geological formations created by pressure on the rock around 23 million years ago.
We then descend along a road and dirt track back to Kampos Doxarou and the starting point.
Terrain & Difficulty
The route is easy, with no technical difficulties, but it includes dirt roads, stone-paved paths, and trail segments, which may be muddy or wet depending on weather conditions.
