The Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos is organising a hike through the beautiful forest of Thripti, in the heart of the Lasithi region, on Sunday, 1 February 2026.

The route is described as follows:
“We’ll start from the village of Thripti and follow a downhill path along the E4 trail towards Agia Anna. Then, via a dirt road heading northwest, we’ll reach the chapel of Agios Dimitrios in Kaminakia, and from there, return to our starting point via a footpath. It’s an easy walk along trails and dirt tracks through a pine forest, offering spectacular views over the Gulf of Mirabello.”

After the hike, a meal will be served, followed by the cutting of the New Year’s cake and a financial overview at the traditional café in Thripti.
Meal price: €15 (excluding alcohol).
Please book in advance as seating at the café is limited!
