Continuing their short getaways to hidden gems just outside Heraklion, this time the route takes us through Rogdia, the Monastery of Savanthiana, Spiliotissa Gorge, Rethtra, and ends near Paleokastro, in the municipality of Malevizi.

As Dromoi Zois say in their call-out:
"These are places that, although right next to us and supposedly known to everyone (or at least they should be), we’ll explore them through the unique perspective that only hiking offers. And once again, prepare to be pleasantly surprised!"

The route includes road, dirt track, trail and off-trail (nopath) segments. It’s mostly downhill and with a bit of scrambling, it can even be suitable for kids.

After the hike, we’ll gather by the sea for food, drinks, live music and to cut our club's New Year’s pie.
