In the village of Palaia Roumata stands Villa Renieri, a Venetian mansion that has survived to this day. It belonged to the Venetian family of Renier, a branch of which had settled in Palaia Roumata.

The entrance to the villa features an impressive doorway and the coat of arms of the family, which includes Nikolaos Renieris, a freedom fighter, politician, and elected President of the Greek Parliament in 1827, during the Third National Assembly of the nascent Greek State. The family also included Markos Renieris, the first president of the Hellenic Red Cross, known for his significant scientific and philanthropic work.
