Off-Road Routes in Vatolakkos
ABOUT
Vatolakkos, in the Municipality of Platanias, Chania, is surrounded by scenic routes that are well worth discovering.
One particularly striking trail leads from Skonizo, a small settlement near Vatolakkos, toward the villages of Manoliopoulo or Nteres.
These routes are only accessible with a 4x4, and motocross races are occasionally held in this area.
A more accessible route, ideal for nature lovers, is the 1.5 km Valsamiotis river trail.
It runs through an area of unique natural beauty, under century-old trees, leading to the Valsamiotis Dam, in a lush green, dreamlike landscape.
It's also worth noting that Vatolakkos has its own motocross track.
