Situated southeast of Rethymno, precisely at the southernmost point overlooking the bay of Messara in the Libyan Sea, this settlement stands as a notable landmark within the prefecture.

A visit to the cave of Agia Galini is essential, as it ranks among the most remarkable underwater caves on the island. This settlement, built amphitheatrically on Ancient Souli with a rich Minoan tradition, is approximately 55 kilometres from the city of Rethymno. It ensures a tranquil escape for visitors, promising both summer and winter holidays filled with relaxation.

Today, Agia Galini has transformed into a modern tourist resort, offering a plethora of comforts for its visitors.

Noteworthy is the fact that tourist boats depart from the port of Agia Galini, offering excursions to renowned beaches such as Preveli and Agios Pavlos.

Additionally, there is a camping facility in the area.
