On Sunday, August 3rd, the Mountaineering Club of Heraklion (EOS Heraklion) is setting off on a scenic hike through some of the most charming villages of Apokoronas in Chania.

Starting and finishing in Vámos, the route winds through five villages—Gavalochóri, Xirostérni, Litsárda and back to Vámos. It’s a walk through time: narrow alleyways, old mansions, whispers of local legends, glimpses of rural life from another era. The air is filled with the scents of Cretan countryside—wild herbs, olive trees, summer earth.
