Heraklion is getting into the carnival spirit, with a touch of Venetian elegance in the air.

During the 2026 Carnival season, visitors and locals alike can admire the Venetian costume collection owned by the Municipality of Heraklion, designed by Anna Machairianaki.

You’ll find these intricate creations on display at three locations:

• in the atrium of the Loggia,

• in the window of the Municipal Bookstore,

• and at the lending section of the Vikelaia Municipal Library.

A wonderful chance to soak in the spirit of old-time carnival glamour, right in the heart of the city.
