The express bus routes between Chania and Heraklion, introduced in the summer of 2025, are getting a seasonal update. The routes, operated by KTEL Chania-Rethymno in partnership with KTEL Heraklion-Lasithi, will follow a revised winter schedule from 6 February to 31 March 2026.

From 1 April 2026, the regular schedule of four daily express services in both directions will return.

The route remains non-stop, with a journey time of approximately two hours between the central KTEL stations in Chania and Heraklion.

The aim of this express service is to offer a smooth, affordable, and comfortable alternative for those travelling across the island, even during the quieter months — encouraging people to leave their cars behind and enjoy the convenience of modern long-distance buses.
