Agios Ioannis Beach: A Stunning Gem Among the World's Finest

Agios Ioannis Beach, located about 4 kilometres west of Sarakiniko on the northern part of Gavdos, is one of the island's most renowned and must-visit beaches. This picturesque beach boasts shallow waters, sandy shores, enchanting cedars, pine trees, and remarkable geological formations, evoking a sense of exotic landscapes. Notably, it was previously recognised as the second most beautiful beach in the world by the Discovery Channel.

Agios Ioannis Beach offers a secluded and tranquil escape, accessible either through the port of Karave or via a challenging hour-long walk from Sarakiniko.

The only tavernas in the vicinity of Agios Ioannis are located before the beach in the area of Fetoufe, which features a charming small pebbly beach.
