Pikris: Natural Beauty and Picturesque Narrow Streets
ABOUT
Known as Picri since the 16th century, the village is nestled in the Arcadi Gorge. Its enchanting natural beauty, characterised by lush vegetation, is accentuated by the flow of the river Arios or Arkadiotis. This river has not only sustained the village by irrigating its fields but also has powered numerous watermills along its course.
Pikris is a Venetian village adorned with majestic mansions. Without a doubt, exploring the charming alleys, passing through vaulted passages, and visiting Villa Clodio with its impressive doorway and inscribed pediment bearing the date 1610 are worthwhile experiences in Pikris.
The cemetery church of the village, a Venetian structure, retains remnants of preserved frescoes.
