In the area of Stavromenos, at the Reservist Officers’ Square in Rethymno, stands the Memorial to the Fallen Greek and Australian Soldiers.
It symbolizes an alliance formed in the fight against the Germans during World War II.
Every year, the memory of the fallen is honored, as part of the Battle of Crete commemorations (May 1941).
