ABOUT

Mt Kedros, standing at a height of 1,777 metres, holds the distinction of being the second tallest peak in the prefecture. It stretches towards the western side of Mt Psiloritis, and together they form a natural boundary around the picturesque Amari Valley. A section of the renowned E4 path leads hikers to the summit of Mt Kedros.

The majestic Mt Kedros, along with the neighbouring mountains, is encompassed by numerous charming villages nestled at altitudes ranging from 400 to 600 metres. Above this zone, there are no substantial settlements to be found. The primary occupations of the local residents revolve around animal husbandry and hunting, forming the mainstay of their livelihoods.

The massif of Mt Kedros faces constant threats from human activities, including intensive grazing, wildfires, and illegal hunting.
