Cities & Villages

ABOUT

The village of Koufi is believed to have acquired its name from a deaf old woman, as ‘koufi’ means ‘deaf’ in Greek, who was known for providing herbs and remedies to the families residing in the area.

With its traditional charm and welcoming locals, Koufi is one of the most picturesque villages in Rethymno.

Situated near the city of Rethymno, Koufi is nestled next to Episkopi.

Today, Koufi boasts only a handful of inhabitants, with amenities limited to a mini-market and a café within the village.

There is also a feed facility in the village.
