Holy Church of the Five Virgins, Argyroupoli
ABOUT
Just outside Argyroupoli, inside a cave, lies the burial site of the Five Holy Virgins, who were martyred in 205 AD.
At this exact spot stands a single-aisled barrel-vaulted chapel dedicated to the Five Virgins. The church is located in what was once the ancient city of Lappa, in the Rethymno region.
Their memory is honoured on June 9.
It’s worth making the trip to this spot to witness something truly unique—a place where spirituality meets nature.
