Nestled within the municipality of Agios Nikolaos, this quaint village sits along the coastline, near Cape Drepani, overlooking the Cretan Sea. It's a rare find, with its population barely filling one hand.

Agios Nikolaos is surrounded by a blend of cosmopolitan small villages and charming traditional hamlets, including the picturesque village of Limnes.

The village is situated on the eastern edge of Skafi, Mirabello, adjacent to the Neapoli – Agios Nikolaos motorway. It stands as one of the oldest traditional villages in the region, boasting narrow labyrinthine streets, interconnected stone-built houses that maintain the authentic elements of folk architecture, and the distinctive characteristics of traditional life.

Situated at the north-western edge of the Mirabello valley, Latsida is perched at an elevation of 250 metres. It is conveniently located just two kilometres away from Neapoli. The village's economy thrives primarily on agricultural production, serving as a significant pillar for its local economy.

The earliest recorded reference to the village dates back to 1369, during the period of Venetian occupation.

In the vicinity of the village, amidst a stunning landscape, stands the Church of Panagia Keragoniotissa, which dates back to the 14^th century. This remarkable church is dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary and features captivating frescoes that are of great interest.
