Caledonia: At the Base of the Spatha Peninsula
Nestled at the base of the Spatha Peninsula, Caledonia is one of the small villages known for its natural beauty.
A notable monument in the village is a fountain known as Vrysi of Kamara and Melissourgio, which served as the heart of the village, supplying water for both daily needs and irrigation.
The hiking trail, commencing at the settlement of Kamara and concluding at Melissourgio, traverses the Korfi Hill, providing boundless views of the sea stretching from Kissamos to Chania.
Within the settlement of Kamara, you will find two religious monuments in the form of churches: the Church of Agios Ioannis and the Church of Agia Paraskevi. Meanwhile, at the central square of Caledonia, stands the Peace Monument, marking the conclusion of the Road of Peace, a small 10-kilometre marathon held in early October.
