On Sunday, June 1st, 2025, the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos will be exploring the northeast coastline of Lasithi.

As the team explains:
“We’ll start from Chamezi in Sitia and stroll through the charming alleys of the village. Then we’ll descend along a dirt road, passing by beautiful little chapels with views over the Cretan Sea. From there, we’ll continue walking along the coast of Kouvári and Richtis, and if the weather’s good, we’ll take a refreshing dip. After that, we’ll cross the lush Richtis Gorge (entrance fee €3) and climb up to the parking area on the BOAK highway, which marks the end of the hike.”

ESSENTIALS: Hiking/sports shoes, trekking poles, windbreaker, sunscreen and snacks, swimsuit and towel!
DEPARTURE: From Agios Nikolaos, at 24 Karamanli Street (in front of S/M Vasilopoulos) at 08:00 on Sunday morning. Those arriving directly should be at the Richtis Gorge parking area by 9:00. Please hand €10 to the driver!
