The Region of Crete, in collaboration with the Kaminia Cultural Association, is organizing the three-day festival “Ta Karavolia”, from Friday, June 20 to Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Open-Air Theater of Paraliaki, in the beautiful park by the sea at Karavolas.
The festival offers a rich and diverse program of music, dance, theater, and folk traditions, aiming to entertain, preserve cultural identity, and connect generations through tradition.
Program Details:
Friday, June 20
19:00: Opening ceremony - greetings
19:15: Award ceremony honoring the volunteers of the “Food with Our Love” soup kitchen
20:00: "From Thrace to Crete" — live performance of music, songs, and dances from Thrace and Crete by the music and dance group of the 11th General High School of Heraklion, Crete
Saturday, June 21
19:00: Waltz and tango performed by TANGONEON, a non-profit group
20:00: Dances by the dance school DANZA LOCA
20:45: Theatrical performance — The theater group of the 8th Junior High School presents the satirical comedy “Poia Eleni?” by Th. Papathanasiou & M. Reppas
Sunday, June 22
Revival of the traditional ritual of Klidonas with all its elements: fires, well, pitchers, fortune telling
Followed by a Cretan feast with live music and dancing
We invite everyone to join this celebration of culture and tradition!
Come to enjoy, learn, remember, and share beautiful moments in this unique spot of the city, right by the sea!
