Crete joins the rest of Greece in honouring Archangel Michael, the patron saint of the Hellenic Air Force, whose feast day is celebrated on 8 November.
On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, the island marks the occasion with the following aerial events:

In Heraklion, from 09:05 to 09:35 a.m., an F-16 fighter jet will perform a low flyover above the city’s harbour.

In Chania, a full aerobatic display by the Hellenic Air Force’s ZEYS demonstration team, featuring a solo F-16 aircraft, will take place at 12:00 noon over the Old Venetian Harbour.

In Agios Nikolaos, between 09:15 and 09:45 a.m., an F-16 will also carry out a low-altitude flight over the town’s harbour.
