Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 31st—because the village of Anogeia is setting the table at Kouradovrysi for one of the tastiest evenings of the summer. The Ofto Festival kicks off at 6:30 pm, and you’re invited.

This celebration is all about “ofto”—slow-roasted meat prepared the traditional Anogeian way. A dish so simple, yet so rooted in the land and its people, it’s one of Crete’s most cherished culinary treasures. The meat, cooked over an open fire with a patience that only tradition teaches, comes served with local sides and ingredients straight from the Cretan countryside.

Expect authentic flavours, warm hospitality, and a generous slice of the island’s cultural heritage.

The event is organized by the Anogeia Cultural Association, under the auspices of the Municipality of Anogeia and the Region of Crete.

Admission is free. Just bring your appetite.
