ABOUT

Located approximately 7 kilometres west of Chora Sfakion (Sfakia) and in close proximity to Loutro, lies the picturesque beach of Lykos. Situated along the E4 path that connects Agia Roumeli with Loutro, this beach offers a tranquil escape for visitors. Access to Lykos can be achieved either by taking a boat from Chora Sfakion or by embarking on a pleasant 1.5-kilometre walk through a path adorned with olive trees from Loutro. Alternatively, a suitable vehicle can navigate through a dirt road originating from Aradena to reach the beach.

The beach is covered in pebbles, and its waters are deep, making it perfect for underwater exploration and snorkelling. Towards the western side of the beach, you'll find several remarkable caves along the rocky cliffs. Lykos Beach is an excellent choice for quiet getaways, with a few charming tavernas and rental rooms available.

Koutelos: A Sheltered and Quiet Beach

Koutelos beach, situated approximately 4 kilometres from Frangokastello and in close proximity to Nomikiana and Vouva, Sfakia, boasts a serene atmosphere with a few trees, smooth round pebbles, and crystal-clear waters. While it may not offer many amenities, apart from a taverna, this sheltered and tranquil beach is a perfect spot for relaxation. Towards the west, a rock acts as a natural boundary, separating Koutelos from the bay of Pera Koutelos, which features more sandy shores. Moreover, the area between Koutelos and Vatalos, Frangokastello is adorned with numerous small beaches accessible by boat, adding to the allure of the region.

In close proximity to the beach, lies a small cave known as Anarapsi. While it is easily accessible from the sea, entry from the land is challenging.

Access to the location is feasible both by car and by sea.
