Koutelos beach, situated approximately 4 kilometres from Frangokastello and in close proximity to Nomikiana and Vouva, Sfakia, boasts a serene atmosphere with a few trees, smooth round pebbles, and crystal-clear waters. While it may not offer many amenities, apart from a taverna, this sheltered and tranquil beach is a perfect spot for relaxation. Towards the west, a rock acts as a natural boundary, separating Koutelos from the bay of Pera Koutelos, which features more sandy shores. Moreover, the area between Koutelos and Vatalos, Frangokastello is adorned with numerous small beaches accessible by boat, adding to the allure of the region.

In close proximity to the beach, lies a small cave known as Anarapsi. While it is easily accessible from the sea, entry from the land is challenging. 

Access to the location is feasible both by car and by sea.

Adjacent to Sfakia, this beach marks the end of the mesmerising Ilingas Gorge. With its crystal-clear waters and pebbly shores, Iligas Beach offers a well-equipped and serene spot for beachgoers. What sets it apart are the enchanting caves that grace its edges, adding a touch of uniqueness to its already picturesque setting. 

At Iligas Beach, visitors can do more than just swim in the inviting crystal-clear waters; they can also indulge in delicious local cuisine at the nearby taverna or opt to stay in cosy rooms available for rent. For those seeking more adventure and seclusion, two additional deserted beaches lie just 80-100 metres away. Accessible only from Ilingas Beach, these hidden gems can be reached either by a short swim or by boat, offering a perfect retreat for those looking to explore untouched coastal beauty.

To the east of the beach, you'll find green algae, which are a result of the fresh water that gushes from the ground. The area may not be very well-equipped with amenities and is usually not the preferred spot for swimmers, mainly because of its proximity to the port. However, Ombrosgialos still boasts clear blue waters and a pebbly shoreline. At the top of the beach, there's a striking Heroes' Monument adorned with cannons and offering stunning views of the surroundings.

Just a five-minute stroll from the Chora Sfakion port, Vrisi Beach offers an excellent spot for a refreshing swim in its pristine waters. It's conveniently the first beach you'll come across when taking the regular small boat or any other form of sea transport exploring the captivating Sfakia beaches by sea. Accessing the beach is effortless via the central and bordering stairways. The beach boasts smooth pebbles and is well-equipped with parasol and sunbed arrangements. A quaint Byzantine chapel dedicated to Agios Georgios graces the beach's upper end.
