Keratokambos Beach is situated in the small seaside resort, approximately 72 kilometres to the south of Heraklion, near Tsoutsouras.

The longest beach stretches all the way to the mouth of the Keratokambitis River, which gathers water from the Portela Gorge and the Kavousi Gorge.

General Theophilus's heroic efforts in defeating the Arabs led to the naming of the beautiful beach of the Municipality of Viannos Sidonia or Psari Forada (Grey Mare), in honour of his courageous horse.

The beach boasts unique dark grey sand, complemented by blue waters, and scattered with rocky formations in many areas.
