Kefali - Vathy - Kaloi Limenes: A Route of Beaches and Gorges!

This journey begins at Mount Kefali, standing at 388 meters, and descends along a scenic path with breathtaking views. You’ll reach the Kounenos fjord, near sea level, before the path becomes rugged and challenging as it approaches Martsalo Beach.

As you walk through the gorge, surrounded by towering cliffs dotted with caves, you'll soon find yourself among native Cretan palm trees. At the end of this section, you’ll come across the cave church of Panagia Martaliani.

Climbing up the mountain ridge, the route leads to Agiofarago Gorge.

To the east of the gorge lies the sea lake of Vourvoulitis, which connects underwater with the open sea. The journey concludes in the village of Kaloi Limenes, where, despite the industrial tanks in the area, you’ll be enchanted by the stunning beaches.
