In the beautiful community of Kavousi, in the Municipality of Ierapetra, it's worth discovering the mountain settlement of Tsamanti.
You’ll find it in the Thripti mountains, above the Mesonas Gorge, at an altitude of 680 metres, along the Kavousi–Thripti road. It is 10 kilometres by road (or 4 kilometres via a footpath) from Kavousi.
Just 700 metres away stands the Church of Agios Nikitas.
