Napoleon's House in Ierapetra
ABOUT
In the very heart of Ierapetra, you’ll find Napoleon’s house!
This is a two-storey building of traditional architecture, located in the city’s oldest district, Kato Mera. According to local tradition, Napoleon Bonaparte stayed here during a brief stopover in Crete on his way back from Egypt.
The building’s features suggest it dates back to the late 18th or early 19th century, though it may have been constructed even earlier.
The house is open to the public during the summer, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 13:00.
