Chondros: Unravelling the Village's Flavourful Origins

The village of Chondros boasts several charming 14th-century churches scattered throughout its expanse. Among these, the Agios Theodoros Church, situated between Chondros and Apostolianos, stands out with its Byzantine frescoes and now serves as the site of the cemetery. Additionally, you can explore the churches of Agios Fanourios, the recently reconstructed Agios Antonios Church, which had fallen into disrepair, and the recently renovated Agios Nikolaos, and Agios Ioannis churches on the eastern bank of the Anapodaris estuary, the remains of which are still preserved. Nestled in a verdant setting, Chondros has been a captivating destination for people passing through since the Bronze Age.
