Church of Crete

The Orthodox Church of Crete comprises the Holy Archdiocese and eight Holy Metropolises.

Operating semi-autonomously, it falls under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The Provincial Synod serves as the highest administrative body of the Church of Crete, presided over by the Archbishop of Crete, who acts as its president, alongside the island's Metropolitans.
