On the slopes of Mount Psiloritis, in the powerful and symbolic landscape of the Idaean Cave, a unique cultural event takes place this summer: "Peramatisma", part of the 2025 Festival "All of Greece One Culture", on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 August.
This is not just a performance, but an experience inspired by the timeless ritual of “peramatisma”—the traditional process of threading the warp through the loom, which determines the pattern and craftsmanship of every woven textile.
Here, this ritual becomes a metaphor, a tool for understanding the interweaving of local and global, tradition and innovation, time and space, humanity and technology.
The project brings together cultural memory and contemporary artistic expression, with the human creator at its core.
Through Peramatisma, we explore:
– the dynamic role of weaving as a gesture, a symbol, a cultural code
– the dialogue between traditional crafts and digital expression
– the fusion of diverse musical styles into a new acoustic experience
