The Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos is organising a hike to the peak of Afentis Thripti (Estavromenos, 1476m) on Sunday, 14 September 2025, which coincides with the saint’s feast day.

The hike starts from the village of Thripti at 860m. From there, we’ll follow a trail all the way to the summit. It's a fairly demanding ascent, but well worth the effort for the sweeping views of both seas and the surrounding landscape.

We'll return via a dirt road and enjoy a bite to eat at the local taverna in the village.

What you’ll need: hiking boots, trekking poles, windproof rain jacket, water, and snacks.

Departure: from Agios Nikolaos, 24 Karamanli Street (parking area at the Vassilopoulos supermarket) at 8:00 AM. Transport will be by private cars. Passengers are kindly asked to contribute €8 to the driver.

If you're coming from elsewhere, please be at Kato Chorio, at the start of the provincial road to Thripti, by 8:30 AM.
