Sitia is once again drawing international attention with the unveiling of Porsche’s latest line of supercars.

Specialist journalists have already arrived in the town to test-drive and get to know seven brand-new models from the legendary German manufacturer.

On the first day of testing, Wednesday 10 September 2025, the horsepower climbed to an astonishing 650hp, sending adrenaline levels soaring for both drivers and onlookers.

Mayor of Sitia, Giorgos Zervakis, was present at the trials, warmly welcoming the organisers and thanking them for choosing Sitia as the ideal location for Porsche’s global presentation.

“The unique natural landscape, along with the warm hospitality of the people of Sitia, won over the organisers. Once again, Sitia is successfully hosting a world-class event, forging bonds and creating opportunities for future collaborations,” said Mr Zervakis, describing the showcase as an exceptional chance for promotion and exposure.

A key role in securing this collaboration was played by Christy Papadaki, Tourism Consultant of the Sitia Development Organisation.

The demanding event could not have been carried out safely without the attention and planning of Deputy Mayor for Civil Protection, Giannis Daskalakis, together with the EDEAK rescue team.
