The Municipality of Chania once again takes part in the European Music Day, which will be officially celebrated on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The European Music Day is held under the Auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture & Sports.
In 1982, on June 21 – a symbolic date marking the summer solstice – and on the initiative of the then French Minister of Culture Jack Lang, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, the Music Day was organized for the first time in France, aiming to bring all musicians into the streets. Now, in 2025, we continue this tradition, filling the streets once again with music, events, and workshops, free for the public.
