The route commences from the bus station, following the road by the sea, and takes you past the chapel of Agios Spyridonas, situated after the Venetian castle. For a nominal fee, you have the opportunity to explore the noteworthy castle, a captivating monument in the area.
The Fortezza, often erroneously referred to as ‘Fortetsa’, is the Venetian Castle in Rethymno, reigning over the hill of Paleokastro, near the heart of the Old Town.
Heading towards Faros, you'll find numerous tavernas offering delightful local delicacies.
We pass by the small beach, reach the square of the Unknown Soldier, and nearby is the Kara Musa Pasha Mosque.
The path takes you past the Church of the Four Martyrs and leads to the Municipal Garden, an attraction situated on the boundary between the Old Town and the new.
The journey concludes once again at the bus station.
