Tenta Beach
ABOUT
Located in the northeastern tip of Crete, just 7 km from the palm forest of Vai, 15 km from Palekastro, and 29 km from Sitia, Tenta Beach is a treasure for those who love nature a little wild and unfiltered.
Here, the landscape is dominated by dramatic cliffs and raw natural beauty, perfectly blending with the deep blue of the sea. The rocky formations continue beneath the surface, creating a vibrant underwater world that’s ideal for fishing—especially if you're into spearfishing. On windy days, don’t be surprised to spot a few windsurfers riding the waves.
Although the coastline is mostly rugged, you’ll find small sandy coves tucked away between the rocks. These little bays are perfect for swimming and relaxing in total seclusion, shielded from prying eyes.
One of the most striking features here is a narrow strip of land that separates the Sea of Sitia from the Karpathian Sea, with a road running right across it.

The tip of Local!
Follow it for about a kilometre north and you’ll reach a military zone near the cape—a reminder of how close the raw and the restricted can lie on this wild edge of Crete.
